Dear Colleague,

Plans are nearing completion for the 78th National Debate Tournament hosted by Emory University. The NDT Committee has worked incredibly hard throughout the year to bring you a top-quality national tournament experience. Rule changes will be in effect at this year’s tournament. Accordingly, please review this document carefully.

The hotel is located in Atlanta, Georgia. Pre-tournament events, the first day of competition (including meals) and the final day of elimination rounds will be held at the hotel. Competition on Saturday and Sunday will be held on Emory’s campus. The current plan is that the Sunday awards banquet will be on campus.

Gary Larson will continue to tab the tournament. We are working to find several alumni volunteers to help with logistics, including starting rounds. If you know of an appropriate volunteer, please have them email me [email protected].

Registration for the tournament will take place on Thursday April 4, 2024. Competition will take place Friday, April 5 through Monday, April 8, 2024. This document provides information on the tournament location, qualifying processes, eligibility certification, and entry for the tournament: http://tinyurl.com/yc7cj7fk. A complete set of rules and procedures may be found at https://nationaldebatetournament.org/about/standing-rules/.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the NDT!
