Trivia

In the bracket, the 3-4-5 seeds were incorrectly inverted – thus Kansas JM (the real 3rd seed) was placed in the bracket as the 4th seed, and Canisius GW (the real 5th seed) was placed as the 3rd seed. This also incorrectly placed the two Kansas teams on opposite sides of the bracket.

First year that schools were able to qualify a second team to the tournament.

4 of the clearing teams had received Second Round At-Large Bids.
